Mission Estate Winery Fete label

Our Fête label design celebrates 160 years of winemaking at Mission Estate in Hawke's Bay. Mission Estate was the first New Zealand winery to make a Methode Traditionelle, and wanted to mark this anniversary with the launch of a superb new sparkling wine.

The wine is hand-harvested Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, and has a wonderful delicacy and freshness that we needed to capture in the brand and packaging. At the same time, we needed to build on the authority and prestige of the Mission Estate brand.

We made the logotype the centrepiece of the label, using calligraphic swirls to create the lively beading of bubbles in the wine. The look of the label ties into the Mission Estate range, but adds sparkle to the refined 'evening-wear' colour scheme of layered black, white and gold.

Fête was launched in October 2011 and has been very well received by both retailers and consumers.
