On graduating from Wellington Polytechnic Design School (now Massey) in 1976, his initial job was designing books for AH&AW Reed, the country's leading publisher of the day, before moving to the company that became DesignWorks in 1983. He became the company's first man in Auckland in January 1984, later becoming a Director, before leaving ten years later to set up his own boutique design firm Gardyne Design in 1993. After 13 years he joined forces with Mike Holt and PDF Communications in April 2006 to form gardyneHOLT.

Fraser was selected as one of the ten international design judges for the WOLDA '09 - the worldwide logo design competition judged in 2010.
In 2011 Fraser was awarded the prestigious Designers Institute Black Pin Award which is awarded each year to a member of the Institute who has made a lasting and valuable contribution to the design profession and design culture in New Zealand. Earlier in the year, at the 2011 Pride In Print Awards, Fraser was honoured to be inducted onto the Pride In Print Awards Roll of Honour.

Matthew comes to gardyneHOLT with over twenty five years' experience in the graphic design industry. From humble self-taught beginnings to director of his own company, Matthew continues to enjoy the challenge - and variety - of creating distinctive design solutions for a wide range of clients.
Matthew’s primary focus at gardyneHOLT is ensuring the smooth operation of the studio, managing projects large and small, from beginning to end. His passions include his lifelong love of ancient and early medieval history, which he read at Auckland University, as well as writing, travel, and tabletop gaming.
Prior to joining gardyneHOLT Antony worked for many years for Gravitate, a web development house, where he honed his coding skills. Coming from a family of professional artists, Antony enjoys working with designers to create new and interesting websites that also deliver business critical services. Although he works in an analytical field he enjoys the arts - from literature to plays and movies, having at one point trained as a jeweller. Antony loves making websites for a wide range of people and industries. He relishes working with gardyneHOLT's diverse client portfolio.
