Fraser Gardyne honoured again

Once again, Fraser has been officially recognised by the NZ design community. This time it was at the Designers Institute Best Awards, held on Friday 7 October, 2011.

Fraser was presented with the prestigious Designers Institute of New Zealand 'Black Pin' award. The Black Pin is awarded each year to "a member of the Institute who has made a lasting and valuable contribution to the design profession and design culture in New Zealand".

In 1988, Fraser was on the steering committee for the inaugural Best Design Awards. He was vice president of the Designers Institute in 2003, President from November 2004 to August 2006, and is currently a Fellow of the Institute. Fraser has been the graphics convenor of the Best Design Awards since 2003, a challenging category, as it is by far the largest of the four disciplines.

See Fraser interviewed by Idealog reporter Vincent Heeringa here. More about the awards can be found here at the Best Awards website. Earlier this year Fraser was inducted onto the Roll of Honour at the 2011 Pride In Print Awards. See this blog article for more info.
