Fraser Gardyne was appointed in 1993 to represent the Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ) on the steering committee that set up the inaugural Pride In Print Awards programme in New Zealand launched in 1994. Fraser continues in this role and as a judge of the awards to this day representing design and its close relationship with print. In 2011 he was inducted into The Pride In Print Roll of Honour.
The awards have gone from strength to strength as the print industries premier and very popular event. Local award winners commonly go on to win International recognition reinforcing the integrity of the programme.
Over the years our studio has assisted where we are able, promoting the Pride In Print Awards through press advertising and awards related communication campaigns to the industry as well as the production of the awards results through their annual publications. Each year a new visually memorable campaign needs to be created to encourage printers to enter the awards and support the years event.
For the 2014 awards campaign we came up with the MAKE YOUR MARK prompt and support graphics based around highly enlarged four colour process dot patterns from the Pride In Print logo. The thinking behind this was that the awards are about identifying the highest quality printed jobs and to do this the judges must look at the tiniest details.Back
